Privacy

How this website handles information, which third-party services it uses, and how the firm protects client information.

This website

This site is informational. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

  • Contacting us. When you call, email or write, we use what you share only to respond and to serve you. We do not sell personal information.
  • Paying online. The Pay page uses PayPal. Card and account details are entered on PayPal's secure form and processed by PayPal under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address and the amount paid so we can credit your account.
  • Third-party services on these pages. Google Fonts (typefaces), Google Maps (office maps on the Contact page), Calendly (appointment scheduling on the Contact page), PayPal (payments) and SmartVault (client portal, opened in a new tab). Each may receive your IP address and browser information when its content loads, under its own privacy policy.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs, such as IP address, pages requested and browser type, for security and troubleshooting.
  • Children. This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Client information

As a CPA firm and tax return preparer, we are bound by rules that go well beyond this website:

  • Tax return information is used and disclosed only as permitted by Internal Revenue Code section 7216 and the related regulations, which means for preparing your return and the services you engaged us for, or with your written consent.
  • Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the FTC Safeguards Rule. We maintain a written information security plan covering how client information is stored, accessed and protected. Clients receive our privacy notice when the relationship begins and annually.
  • Professional standards. Kansas Board of Accountancy rules and the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct require confidentiality of client information.
  • Secure channels. Documents are exchanged through the SmartVault client portal, and signatures are collected through the portal's electronic signature service, which runs on DocuSign. We do not ask for Social Security numbers, account numbers or identification documents by email, and we encourage you not to send them that way.
